DATA FROM THE EUROWILSON CLINICAL DATABASE

Number of newly diagnosed patients per year

It must be emphasised that the objective of the database was not to document every single case of WD in Europe, it was to assess the feasibility of trials. The number of cases entered into the database is a function of the number of cases that exist, and their accessibility i.e the ability of the EuroWilson database to capture them.
Cases were included if they scored 4 or more on the scoring system. The number of cases has been compared to the country population and an average incidence per million population has been calculated.
